In 1900, Jean Delorme and his family arrived in the village of Rully and over subsequent generations, Delorme has taken roots in Burgundy in the “Côte Chalonnaise” region. In 1942, Andre Delorme embarked upon the elaboration of sparkling wines, following the purchase of a manufacturing license from Francois Verpiot, who had since ceased activity. Since 1955, the company has expanded its product range with still wine, buying even more vineyards in the region. Andre Delorme then became a specialist in Burgundy sparkling and still wines of the Côte Chalonnaise and its appellations Rully, Mercurey, Givry, Montagny and Bouzeron. He also became instrumental in promoting the wines of the Côte Chalonnaise as well as raising the quality standards of the region overall. In 2005, Jean Francois Delorme sold the company to Eric Piffaut who continued the company’s good work and the quest of constantly improving quality. The company has been the recipient of over 400 winemaking medals since 1977. The wines of the Côte Chalonnaise represent some of the best value burgundy wines and those from the house of Delorme are a joy to taste.
