Château Vieux Chaigneau Lalande de Pomerol

Lalande de Pomerol is located next to, and just north of the more famous and prestigious Pomerol appellation. Lalande de Pomerol is situated not far from the city of Libourne, and the neighboring Dordogne River is an important factor in the region’s microclimate, as it brings much-needed nourishment and moisture to the clay-rich soils. Dark berries and plum notes are immediately apparent upon opening the bottle. With a little time exposed to air, subtle oak and herbal notes manifest with just a suggestion of cocoa. The palate is smooth and rich with plenty of continuing plum notes and that cocoa note becomes more apparent when tasting. Juicy and lithe, the fine tannins give the wine a silky texture on the finish.
