The Wine Company’s tasting at the Errigle Inn, Ormeau Road, Thursday 1st December 2016

The Errigle Inn Private Bar

Our wine tasting normally starts at 7.30 PM sharp and ends at 9.30 PM, well it started at 8.00 PM and finish at 10.45 PM, not too far out by Northern Ireland standards! The Errigle’s upstairs private bar is ideal to host 50 people and the room was full that night. The range of wines for our xmas tasting was what a wine tasting should be : 10 excellent wines ( on this occasion from France and Italy ) with retail prices from £14.99 to £56.99 a bottle, ( Including a delicious Champagne and a Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe ). We’re not a bunch of cork sniffers, we love quality wines! What would be the point of tasting cheap wines? ( always wrongly labelled as cheap and cheerful! ), Wrong!, There is nothing cheerful about them, we assure you, they are cheap because they are rubbish! Imagine people talking to their friends, telling them that the wines were awful! Is it not a lot more exciting to say we tasted some cracker wines, delicious Champagne and Chateau La Fleur cardinal at £58.99 a bottle? The night was a great success, good wines, good selection of cheeses and a mighty craic! The wine company Xmas message ( and all year round! ) : It’s the quality that counts! Merry Xmas!
